Want to replace nvidia gt220 graphics card.?

im wanting to upgrade my gt220 with a new graphics card. i have a 400 watt psu and i am NOT upgrading it. im wanting a nvidia gpu because some of my games use physX and im not wanting to spend all my cash on a expensive graphics card. my price range is no higher then $150.



ive been looking at the: gt240, 9600gt, 9800gt or something like those that will work on my 400 watt psu and not destroy my wallet.|||The best you can do on the Nvidia side with a 400W psu is the GeForce 9800GT. Just be sure to get a 600Mhz model. The 550Mhz versions are low power "green" editions which don't perform as well.



In terms of performance, the GeForce GT240 is dead-even with the 9600GT but is a newer more energy efficient design, so it only needs a 300W power supply. Both of those cards are slower than the 9800GT.

To go any faster you'd have to replace the power supply (which isn't difficult and only takes about 5 minutes). The GTS 250 requires a minimum 450W, so do ATI cards of that level- the Radeon 4850 and 5750.

budget of $150 and

those cards are in the

range of $85-90.9800gt is the good

choice for 400 watts

psu and it is faster

than both of them so

it is a good upgrade

for just $90.



but with $150,you can get 500 watts psu and

Radeon hd 4850 which is 40-50% faster than 9800gt.

get a coolermaster

extreme 500 watts

psu for $40 and hd

4850 for $100 from newegg.com.that would be a better

upgrade for gt 220.

both in $140.you even can get better cards

in future with 500

watts psu.



for Physicx,still you

can get gts 250 less

than $120 and it is

better than 9800gt.

still that would be in

$160 since gts 250 needs 450 watts.if you just need

to keep the psu,then

9800gt is the best

option for 400 watts

psu.
