Is this computer good for computer gaming?

XPS 8100

Intel Core i5-750 processor(8MB Cache, 2.66GHz)

8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz - 4 DIMMs

1024MB nVidia GeForce GT220

What games can I play in high quality? Fps? Benchmark? im buying this for around $825 which is 940 including tax, are there any better models out there?|||It's fine minus the video card, which is fairly low end. Put a $100+ video card in it, such as a Radeon 4850 or GTS 250 and you'll be fine.

Also, if that's USD, then it's overpriced. You could build your own with a better video card for less. 8GB of RAM is also overkill. 4GB is plenty for gaming.

PC HD4670 PCS or Inno3D GT220?

Which is stronger and more durable?|||The HD 4670 is a better card.

http://videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.p…|||The Radeon HD 4670 is better than the GeForce GT220, but not by a huge amount.

I have my computer connected to a projector, but no image appears when I play Call Of Duty Black Ops?

I recently connected my computer to a Panasonic LCD Projector (PT-AE500E), and I am able to watch movies, browse the internet and do all regular tasks. However, whenever I attempt to play Call Of Duty Black Ops, I get a blue screen on the wall indicating no signal from the Computer. I don't know how to fix this. My graphics card is a GE-Force GT220|||I personally think your projector doesn't support that kind of a graphics card when worked to its maximum capacity. The Call of Duty Games push most computers to the limit and I believe your projector simply can't keep up with the graphics of the computer.

The only reason you are able to use the projector to browse through the internet and do regular tasks is because the graphics required are often low (even when viewing HD youtube videos). When playing a game such as Call of Duty Black Ops, however, the graphics card is often pushed to its absolute limit and this limit may surpass that of your projector.

Note: It may also be a factor of the game itself. It is possible that the call of duty games do not support the use of a projector and they may block the signal when the game is being played.

XFX HD4350 1GB VS. EVGA GT220 1GB?

i bought the EVGA GT220 1GB, but i was also looking at the XFX HD4350 1gb, because it has HD. my computer is this: dell dimension 8400 cpu 3.6GHz HT, windows XP media center. 4gb ram (xp 3gb only). i play half life and ARMA and COD. but i would like to know if the xfx is better? my ram is DDR2 not DDR3. so i dont know if that makes a difference in graphics?|||Cards make a difference yes but you may also want to get windows 7 so that you can take full control of your RAM and begin to use all of it. Next thing, try upgrading the processor. the gigs on it are nice, but if you really want a boost try going for quad core.

Good luck!|||DDR2 or DDR3, only matters if it is on the video card.

Want to replace nvidia gt220 graphics card.?

im wanting to upgrade my gt220 with a new graphics card. i have a 400 watt psu and i am NOT upgrading it. im wanting a nvidia gpu because some of my games use physX and im not wanting to spend all my cash on a expensive graphics card. my price range is no higher then $150.

ive been looking at the: gt240, 9600gt, 9800gt or something like those that will work on my 400 watt psu and not destroy my wallet.|||The best you can do on the Nvidia side with a 400W psu is the GeForce 9800GT. Just be sure to get a 600Mhz model. The 550Mhz versions are low power "green" editions which don't perform as well.

In terms of performance, the GeForce GT240 is dead-even with the 9600GT but is a newer more energy efficient design, so it only needs a 300W power supply. Both of those cards are slower than the 9800GT.

http://www.techspot.com/review/240-ati-r…

To go any faster you'd have to replace the power supply (which isn't difficult and only takes about 5 minutes). The GTS 250 requires a minimum 450W, so do ATI cards of that level- the Radeon 4850 and 5750.

Here are a couple of full-speed 9800GT cards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

The next step up would be this combo:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||9600GT or GT240 won't be a very huge

upgrade for your current gt220.

since you have got the

budget of $150 and

those cards are in the

range of $85-90.9800gt is the good

choice for 400 watts

psu and it is faster

than both of them so

it is a good upgrade

for just $90.

but with $150,you can get 500 watts psu and

Radeon hd 4850 which is 40-50% faster than 9800gt.

get a coolermaster

extreme 500 watts

psu for $40 and hd

4850 for $100 from newegg.com.that would be a better

upgrade for gt 220.

both in $140.you even can get better cards

in future with 500

watts psu.

for Physicx,still you

can get gts 250 less

than $120 and it is

better than 9800gt.

still that would be in

$160 since gts 250 needs 450 watts.if you just need

to keep the psu,then

9800gt is the best

option for 400 watts

psu.

Does 1024MB nVidia GeForce GT220 Video Card support DirectX9 or higher and Shader Model 2 or higher?

Yes it has Direct X 10.1 and should have shader model 2 or higher. Well hope this helps

Urgent! I need to know if my motherboard accepts the nvidia GT220 (A740GM-M)?

Need to know if my motherboard accepts the nvidia GT220 A740GM-M is the urgent need to know please to go tomorrow to buy the GT220|||The NVIDIA GeForce GT220 uses a PCI-E 2.0 bus. This is compatible with ECS EliteGroup's A740GM-M motherboard which has an x16 PCI-E slot.

Will nvidia gt220 1024mb and vista supported by Duo core quad processor work well with gta 4?

Just tell me if it will run nicely meaning no lagg|||Try this website, it tells you if it can run it.

Is a 1024mb nvidia geforce gt220 graphic card good enough to play most modern games?

Yes, if you run them at a very low resolution. Take a look at this: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.a…|||hi eric

yes and no..it will run most of the latest games however you will be limited to low detail and resolution which would bother some gamers however it wont bother others

the geforce gt220 supports a 128bit memory interface and this is what limits this cards performance... a 256bit memory interface would perform better than a 128bit card and would allow higher detail and resolution...that said the 1gb of video memory on the gt220 is excellent

with the gt220 retailing at around £50 i have located the "XFX GeForce 9800 GT OC "( http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Othe… ) which retails for around the same price...however its specifications far outweigh the gt220

for example it has a 256bit memory interface and 512mb of gddr3 memory clocked at 900mhz(1800mhz ddr effective ) and with 64 stream processors and a 600mhz core clock this is a awesome budget gaming card,,and in tests it will run any of the latest games at medium to high detail and high resolution

however while looking for the above card i came across the "POV GeForce GT 220 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card "( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… ) which has better than normal speeds for this card

your average graphic card comes with whats known as "stock " speeds however some manufactuers overclock their stock speeds and in the case of this card you get a 625mhz core clock and 512mb of gddr3 memory running at 800mhz(1600mhz ddr effective ) and this extra boost will help when running the latest games

personally i would go with the 9800gt however if you are gonna get the gt220 then get the POV version above...the extra speed will help you especially with some of the latest games ( assassins creed 2, bioshock 2 )

i hope this helps, any problems let me know !

good luck mate !|||it will play games, but if you have a big monitor, or want to play with high graphics settings, you will want something faster. For around $100 you can get an ati radeon hd4850, which is about 3x faster than a gt220 and the best card for the money right now, if you want to stick with nvidia look for a 8800gt/s/x, 9800, 9600gso with 96 stream processors.|||I am not an expert but I think you would need one with more ROM on it. Check with Office Depot or any computer store for better information.|||yes, but it looks to be on the low side.

next time post a link to the exact item if you want a better response.

Is gt220 1gb DDR3 good enough to play assasin creed 2???answer plezzzz?

Yes , may not be at max settings but will run for sure depending if you qualify on the other configuration like ram , processor and OS .|||Yes.GT 220 is entry level card and can handle most games on medium settings and resolution.

AC2 will run just fine with it.get HD 4670 and you will play it on high settings.it is not expensive than GT 220.

Will a pny verto geforce gt220 graphics card work with my hp dc5800 sff pc?

I suggest getting a HD 4650 powercolor 1gb DDR3 on newegg.com for $49.99. HD 4650 are better than 220gt.

BTW it won't... Get a low profile graphics card. Like the MSI HD 5670 512mb on newegg.com for $79.99

Can a GeForce GT220 1GB Run Crysis on MAX. Settings?

Please answer ASAP. Thanks

Heres the specs which the GFX card will be running on:

* Intel Core i7-920

* (2.66GHz, 8MB Cache)

* Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium

* 6GB memory

* 1TB hard drive

* 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT220

* Blu-Ray player and DVD Rewriter

* Built-in wireless (802.11b/g/n)

* Digital TV Tuner

* Cordless keyboard and mouse|||No way.|||Most certainly yes. Crysis needs 3.2ghz. You have an Intel core-i7, and i suspect that is quad core, meaning you have over 10ghz. It only needs 2gb ram, and you have 6gb. So fine so far. Your graphics card seems fine. The 1gb should work, as my friend has a 512mb one, and it worked on his.

Overall conclusion: YES

Edit: Oh ye, the frames per second is over the card's one. Maybe you can get a cheap card, such as this one:

http://www.elara.ie/products/detailsfull…

This should do it, if it goes into your pc properly.|||Answerer above me is wrong. Core speed does not add together because they are like 4 cars with separate information between it and running at 2.6GHZ. You NEVER add up speed of GHZ by number cores.

Back to question:

All of specs is fine. You have one problem:

Graphic card is not that good. You can play about low - medium settings but not max. You are thinking of HD 4870, HD 5750 and 9800GT.|||fps would be ~ 10, so no, it'd be unplayable at max settings with that card

Nvidia GT220 good enough?

I am going to buy a Nvidia GT220 for $79.99 for christmas (off newegg) and I was wondering if it can handle these games with a low amount of lagg:

Empire: Total War (Ultra, if not high)

Medieval 2 Total War: Very High

Hearts of Iron III

Age of Empires:III (Highest)

Other Specs

500W PSU (Im putting this one in with the card)

2.93 GHZ Pentium 4

1 1/2 GB RAM (If needed, i'll put in another 2 gb)|||Yes, those are older titles and the GT220 will handle them with ease.|||Look at the 4670 first. It has the same price but 320 pixels shaders instead of 48 like the 220. Also a faster memory clock. The other specs are similar to the 220.|||you will not be able to play Empire: Total War in ultra or high...u need to mix between low - medium...if you put high - ultra it will lag

Wil the GeForce GT220 work on modern warfare 2?

I just got a new computer with 4 gig ram, core i5 with the GeForce GT220 grahpics card and was wondering if it could run Modern Warfare 2. Thanks.|||Barely. The GT220 is a low end piece of crap. Get a better video card.

I'm a idiot? Okay, kiddo. If you want to settle for mediocrity when $50 more will get you far better performance, then be my guest. The GT220 is low end. Period.|||yes, it can for sure and my buddy says it maxed it but i wouldn't go that far (without aa)

How much a Core 2 duo+4gb ram + Nvidia gt220 with 500hdd made in china cost?

This is impossible to answer because of the possible variety in the quality and specifications of the equipment listed.

i.e. 4gb ram will vary depending on speed and even within the same speed, it will depend on manufacturer. Same with hdd, video card, and processor (varies by speed)

Wats the basic difference between an Nvidia GeForce 9800gt graphics card and a EVGA GeForce GT220 Video Card?

both say they are for gameplay. so can anyone explain it.|||The GT 220 is only slightly better than a 9500GT.

http://www.upgraderguides.com/hwdb.php?t…

But a 9800GT is considerably better than a GT 220.

http://www.upgraderguides.com/hwdb.php?t…|||Performance.

The GT220 is a low-end gaming card. Check out some graphics card reviews for performance comparisons.

I installed a Nvidia Gt220 on my Dell Inspiron 530 and when i restart the computer i get a black blank screen?

i deleted the old drivers and installed the latest drivers, and now i get a blue screen which crashes my computer and keeps restarting it.|||i'm not too familiar with the computer, but sounds like your new card is a power hog which a stock powersupply in the dell not enough to support the card which is causing the computer to restart|||you can fix drive errors by using regtool.

RegTOOL can helps you scan your PC, safely clean the errors & invalid entries cause system slow, freezing and crashing, and repair registry problems to speedup your computer performances.

Why is a GT220 1GB slower than an Radeon 4870 512MB even though the 220 has more memory?

I am noob.|||It's a common misconception that more memory a card has the faster it is. And that's simply incorrect. The type of GPU, the memory interface, and type of RAM are all bigger factors. For example a GeForce 8800GT with 512 MB of RAM is nearly twice as fast as the GeForce 9500 GT with 1 GB of RAM. Because the 8800GT has a G92 core which is much faster than the scaled down G96 core in the in the 9500 GT. However people see the higher number and more RAM and just automatically assume it's the faster card. These people are sadly mistaken.|||its because its less powerful, even if it has more memory it doesn't have enough omph to drive it

the 4870 has 115.2 GB/s of GDDR5 memory bandwidth, the GT 220 only has 25.3 GB/s of GDDR3 memory bandwidth

i recommend getting a HD 6870 (twice as fast as HD 4870) or HD 6970 (nearly three time as fast) if you want better performance|||Obviously GT220 is a low end card, compared to 4870 is high end card.

Amount of memory does not determine the performance.|||its the gpu cores, memory really only makes a difference in resolution settings.

What power supply do I need for a Nvidia GT220 and 6150se?

I have already got a Nvidia Geforce 6150se in my computer, I want to know what power supply I need to also use the GT220?

Here's my computer: http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupp…|||All you need for the Graphics card is a 300 Watt Power Supply (with 18A on the +12V Rail). For what you have I recommend a 350 Watt Power Supply (with 18A on the +12V Rail). The graphics card doesn't need a 700 Watt Power Supply unless you upgraded more than just the card:)

Sunday, May 6, 2012

Would this power supply work with this GPU (Nvidia GT220)?

hey,

I would like to know if this graphics card (nvidia gt 220):

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gt_220_us.html

Is compatible with this power supply(OCZ StealthXStream):

http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/power_management/ocz_500w_stealthxstream_power_supply

This is my motherboard:

http://support.packardbell.com/nl/item/index.php?i=spec_denver10&psn=PVU050X002908047779000

Thank you :)|||Easily. The GT 220 has a max power draw of 60W, so a psu (power supply unit) with an output of 100W greater than what you're currently using is sufficient for that card. That psu can handle graphics cards that are considerably better than a GT 220.

Can I upgrade my HP Pavilion Slimline s5110t?

I just bought modern warfare 2 and i need a good graphics card. My operating system is Windows Vista 64-bit 2.5ghz 4GB RAM and dual core. Can I put a Galaxy-NVIDIA GT220 1GB DDR2 in my computer to play modern warfare 2?|||Because it is a "Slimline", you will need to find a low profile video card - not a full size card. Also check to see if your power supply wattage is sufficient to run the video card.

What is the better graphics card for gaming?

I'm thinking about buying a desktop and the couple of desktops that I am looking at have the ATI Radeon 4350, GeForce g220, GeForce 315, gt240, 9500gt, or the GeForce gt220. Which one is better for gaming?|||I would suggest to buy Nvidia geforce Graphics card

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?u…

Also check out at ebay there are many good reatilers selling this product at good price

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-…|||benchmarkcomparisson:

GT 240 : 773

GT 220 : 449

9500 GT : 358

315 : 304

HD 4350 : 228

So obviously the GT240 is best, but still a relatively weak gamingcard.

Here's a review of a card based on the GT 240 chipset:

http://www.techspot.com/review/223-gainw…

PS: if you are going to buy a new desktop that has a dedicated graphical card, chances are you wil buy a graphically underpowered system. Most new desktops are graphically weak, so better buy a cheaper desktop without dedicated gaphics and upgrade the powersupply and graphical card yourself.|||Tom's Hardware offers a fairly good "hierarchy chart" of graphics cards, giving a general overview of what's best:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gami…

(this is of July 2010)

Consult the hierarchy, and also look up card reviews and detailed specifications on the manufacturers' websites.

According to the hierarchy, the cards are, from worst to best,

Radeon 4350, 9500 GT, GT 220, GT 240 (unfortunately I couldn't find 315 on there)

None of these cards I'd recommend for a gaming setup. They are all fairly low to low-mid grade graphics cards.

If you want something more for gaming, then getting a card like a GTS 250, or HD 5770, or at the very least a 9800 GT will be a much better card offering much more performance and quality in gaming.

Will a Galaxy GeForce GT220 1GB DDR2 625MHz graphics card be able to run all new games?

I am thinking of buy this graphics card and I want to know if it can run any games out there?|||depends on how much the graphics card costs, if that makes sense, as the graphics ram in that card is alright but rather slow, as you can get a PNY NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 1gb but with 800mhz graphics ram for £59.99 (UK) which would be faster and better for gaming than that one.

Shop around is my advice|||I would recommend you to buy XFX ATI Radeon HD 5670 1 GB DDR5 DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card

Video Card, Installation CD with Multi-Language User Guide

Up to 1 GB GDDR5 memory

You need to spell your words properly and be more coherent if you want a good answer. I'm guessing you are getting a kernal is not responding and you need to hard reset your computer.

To get the driver you need to go to the nVidia website, under driver downloads, find the GT220 range and download the latest Windows installer for it.|||try older drivers then , latest drivers sometimes are unstable

How do I explain that installing a video card isn't scary?

My mother is afraid of me installing a EVGA GeForce GT220 Video Card because she's afraid of me "messing up our computer".

Can somebody help me?|||Tell her about your knowledge and how it can't mess up the computer since you know what you are doing. Tell her you wouldn't be doing it if you knew you didn't know how to do it and that it would mess up the computer.

good luck.|||She may have a point, make sure your computer can handle this Video Card well or something may go bad, Upgrading something doesn't mean your computer can take it. But once you're sure your computer can handle it; then it's simply nothing if you know what you're doing. It won't mess up your computer again if your computer can handle it. Installing a new video card is pretty much a common process most people do.|||In what way...?

Its simple if you know what to do, and it doesnt take much to learn.

Unplug your pc, place it atop a non metal surface (wooden table etc...), open the side panel by removing the two screws on the back, tough the inside of the case where unpainted metal is exposed (this discharges you of static electricity, protecting your components), unscrew and unplug your existing graphics card, remove, insert knew one into same slot, plug in and screw in, return side panel, plug in, install drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html

please answer ASAP :( THANKS!|||what's your operating system, 32 or 64bit? how much ram do you have totally after installing the new 2GB stick?

most likely the new ram caused a double assignment of memory addresses, as the video ram of the GT220 is assigned to addresses between 3 and 4GB.

if you have a 64bit OS uninstalling and reinstalling of the video driver might help. if you have a 32bit OS you cannot install more than about 2.5GB of ram.|||if you have a GT220 with 1GB video ram and 3GB of system memory, the total address range of 4GB is still exceeded because there are other devices using memory addresses for control buffers and registers. if you have a GT220 with 512MB it should work.

i read on new egg that its satisfactory|||For Mild Gaming, you might want to look more into the gt240. Depends on what you want to play or gametypes you enjoy. The integrated chipset is not used for medium-high end games. Its there for basic monitor display, video streaming, and pre-installed games. Most onboard chipsets are either 32bit or 64bit now.

So, if you were ever thinking of playing for example Call of Duty:Finest Hour or Medal of Honor, you will need to put in a PCI-Express Graphics card that exceeds minimum system requirements of it.|||Core i3 integrated graphics is the new Intel HD Graphics that has 12 stream processors.

GT220 is really a hell lot more powerful with its 48 stream processors. Nvidia claims it can deliver up to 37x the performance of the G45 integrated graphics that has only 10 stream processors.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_gef…

Most budget or entry level cards have 16 to 32 stream processors.|||Yes almost any card is better than Integrated. But that card is pretty much entry level(weak)

Can a NVIDIA GeForce GT220 run COD MW2 with good/decent graphics?

GT 220 tends to struggle at high settings and medium resolution (1680x1050).

http://www.techspot.com/article/219-cod-…

So just lower your resolution if you want to play at high settings OR reduce game settings if you want to play at high resolution.|||You'll need to run at low to medium settings to see decent framerates. http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gt…

Nvidea windows 7 gt220 not responding help !?

I have Windows 7 with a nvidea graphics card gt220 and every so often the screen go black then at the bottom right it says nvidea graphics card kennel is responding and then when i play a you tube video or game it goes black then turns my pc monitor off and then i need to emergency my pc how can i fix it and installed the latest nvidea driver and still does it.|||My graphic card is also gt220 but its working

Check the slot if there is a lose connection or a short in the pins.

here is a way to clean your VGA

take out the VGA and get a small piece of paper and rub the pins in the VGA(not so hard)

Clean both sides. Now put the VGA back into your motherboard and see if it works

Hope This Works

Screen blanks out when GPU passes 50 degrees (GT220)?

I got a new comp a couple months back.

So I'm bascially running a Nvidia GT220 on a Windows 7 64 bit. Ever since I've got the new computer, the monitor blacks out for seconds when ever I run anything with 3D graphics.

I used speedfan to measure the change and it seems that anything above 50 degrees celsius will cause it to happen.

Is there anything I can do?|||50C is not very hot. It should be able to run hotter than that.

I think it is a fault with the card.

Go back the supplier and tell them it is faulty.

Which is best nvidia 9400gt ddr2 or gt220 ddr2 both are 1gb?

i have gt220 ddr2 but my friend is having 9400gt nfs hot pursuit works good with his card but not for me with gt220|||gt 220 is more like a 9500gts with lower power, good temperatures, more features, smaller in design also less noisy since it has a smaller fan compared to the 9500gt.

Get the gt 220.|||The GT 220 is much better than the 9400GT.

Your problem may lie in the CPU or RAM bottle-necking your graphics card.|||GT 220 is much faster than 9400GT, maybe you have a very weak processor?

Is an Nvidia GT220 a decent video card? I can get one for less than $50 brand new?

The GT220 would replace an 8400GS but I'm not a serious game player. I mostly just use flight simulators like X-Plane 9 and MS Flight Simulator X.

So what do you think? Thanks for your help!|||It is a middle of the road card, or so it seems... There are worse ones out there, but there are better. I don't know this X-Plane 9 program, but it should run flight simulator X with no issues.

I would not count on it to be great for anything super-demanding, though.

It is slightly faster than the 8400gs, but not by a whole lot. You might want to save up for a real proper upgrade.|||dude, i jsut replaced my 8400 GS, my 8400 gs sucks compared to my new 9500, i love my 9500, i'd suggest a 9500, btw don't listen to that guy above me, 8400 GS sucks, ur card is atleast 4X better

Is Nvidia Geforce GT220 1GB DDR3 a good enough graphic card to run medieval 2 total war on max setting?

I am looking for a graphic card to can run game medieval 2 total war with max video setting and unit scale is huge. I don't know so much about graphic card but is a Nvidia Geforce GT220 1GB DDR3 good enough to run the game with max video setting and unit scale is huge?|||the GT 220 is about the same gamewise as a 9600gt. probably not maxed out, expecially at a high resolution.|||Here use this site: http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/sr…

Is the NVIDIA GeForce GT220 or the ATI Radeon HD 4650 better?

The nvidia card has 1GB of discrete GDDR3. The ATI card is only listed as having 1GB of video memory which may be shared (not 100% sure) from that system's 8GB of DDR2 SDRAM. I don't know a lot about how GPUs are rated but I get the impression that the nvidia card is better. I'd like to know if it's a lot better or if I won't notice the difference.

I'm comparing two computers from Best Buy, the (Asus - Essentio) CG5270-BP003 and the (Gateway) DX4300-03. The nvidia card comes with the Asus; the ATI card is with the Gateway.

(Asus) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…

(Gateway) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…

I don't need anything that's top of the line; as long as these graphics cards are both mid-level or better they'll work fine for me. Thanks in advance for any replies :)|||I have been researching the heck out of these low end cards. So here are some things I have seen.

The ATI card will likely have GDDR2 and all of the 1gb is on the card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=hd+4650+1gb

The Nvidia card uses GDDR3 which is much faster than the GDDR2. The reviews (really speculation) say the GT 220 should perform between a 9500 and 9600 Nvidia card.

If you look here.

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-graphics-cards-charts-q3-2009-mainstream-quality/3DMark06-v1.1.0-3DMark-Score,1374.html

you will have to interpolate but you can guess that it should be a wash, performance wise, between the 2 cards.

I have a 4670 512mb GDDR3 in this Vista Ultimate 64 bit machine I am typing on. The drivers throttle the card down in frequency when just surfing or typing so it has a very low power / noise signature. I don't know if the Nvidia card drivers will do that. I can also tell you that I have watched Blu-rays with this card with no flicker. The same was true with my old 3870. I guess it is accepted fact that radeon cards are good at off-loading video decoding from the CPU. Also, The Nvidia is a new release whereas the Radeon is a proven / tested design.|||Read reviews. Nvidia and ATI always like to make near carbon-copies of eachother's GPUs

Can I run 2 different graphic cards?

I know this question has most probably been answered but I don't feel like scrolling through pages of answers to find out.

I have a Radeon ATI 5670 in my computer and I want to know if I can put a Nvidea GT220 in the same computer?

A simple yes or no will suffice, but if you could explain why or why not that would be great.

Thanks in advance.|||Yes, assuming you have 2 or more PCI Express x16 slots on your motherboard.

The cards would have to run different monitors, their video power can't be added together.|||Yes absolutely, providing you have the following

1) enough power to be able to supply both of these graphics cards at once

2) enough cooling for both the graphics cards (I would suggest water cooling or quite a few fans)

3) enough room for a secondary monitor

4) enough PCI express x16 slots on your motherboard.

5)Enough processing power to play games that require that amount of dedicated RAM

any questions give me a message =]|||Rhyled is correct. As long as you're running Windows XP or Windows 7, two cards will work together. Vista seemed to remove the ability to have two different graphics cards working together in one machine.

Syntax is wrong as, I currently have an Ati 5870 and Geforce 8800GT running inside my machine right now!|||No, You Can Have 2 Graphics Cards In The Same Computer, But They Need To Be The Same Type.

ATi Radeon HD 4670 vs nvidia gt220 both are ddr2 1gb?

My computer randomly enters Power Saving mode when playing games such as Rift. Help?

So when I'm playing rift, my computer makes a weird sound and enters power saving mode all of a sudden. I play on the lowest graphics settings possible. I am not lagging or anything like that, and I can play other games like World of Warcraft on ultra quality without problems.

Anyone know how I can solve this?

My computer has 6GB RAM and my graphics card is NVIDIA Geforce GT220

The system is windows 7 64-bit.|||Click on Start | Control Panel | Power Options.

In the Power Option properties window, click on the Power Schemes Tab

Set the Turn off Monitor/ Turn off Hard Disks option when on Power (and also Battery for laptop users) to Never.

Now click on the Save as... button and assign a name to it.|||I would assume it would have to do with overheating or your settings. If it's your settings all you have to do is go into your system preferences and change the settings, but if it's overheating you may have to get another fan or two in your computer to cool it down and avoid overheating. It goes into power saving mode because when it gets to hot it has to stop running and cool down.

Will my motherboard support the GeForce GT220?

My motherboard is the P4M900M-L and does it need any extra power supply?|||Yes it will support your motherboard. And atleast a 400watt supply would do. And i would never purchase that graphics card.

Its better to get an ATi 4670 1GB DDR3 for $60 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Its cheaper and much much faster than this GT220, which is not meant for serious gaming.|||it has a pci slot

you need at least a 400watt

Whats better? Nvidia Geforce GT220 or GT320?

I bought a pc and it should have had a GT220 but instead it came with a GT320. Im just wondering if this is a good thing or a bad thing.|||yes that is a good thing, i would however like to point out that both cards are low end models of that series so they are not the best cards for gaming etc, and the above guys 285 is better spec wise|||the 320 is better. With NVIDIA (actually, any card brand), the higher the number, the better. the 3 is a better series than the 2. but the 20 in both names signify they are along the same level in comparison to its placement in the series.

i want to replace my gt220 with a 100$ gpu.....will hd6670 be a good choice ?how much will be the performence improvement ?|||Don't get me wrong, the 6670 will waste the GT 220.

The $100 pricetag is one that gets me. I've seen faster cards like the GTS 450 and sometimes a 5770 or 6770 go on sale for that price. Right now, I can find a 6770 for $120 at newegg. If your power supply can't support these cards then don't worry about it. Otherwise, the 6770 is worth the extra $20.|||The HD 6670 is about 3 times faster than a GT220. You should see around a 10~15+ fps increase in performance.

How can I set up 3 monitors on a pc with GT220?

Need some help setting up 3 monitors on a pc with GT220|||You will NEVER be able to drive more than two monitors with the GT220 by itself.

The GT220's GPU is built to support TWO monitors maximum.

Only ATI's Eyefinity cards can support more than 2 monitors off one card.

Good graphics card for gaming, ~150 euros, as a replacement for GT220?

I've just bought a new computer, mainly for work and some photo editing, but I'd really like to play games on it. From what I've heard, the GT220 isn't a very good graphics card for gaming. However, I'd like toto play some of the recent and upcoming games like Dragon Age and Starcraft 2. The other system specs are the following:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

AMD Phenom II X4 810 processor, 2600MHz

6,0 GB memory

1 TB hard disk with another 2,5 TB external for music, photo's, backup etc.

GT220, used for 1900*1080 and 1280*1024 monitors.

It would be great if both could be DVI, if not, that's ok, too.|||If you prefer nvidia go with EVGA GTS 250 Superclocked (around 150 euros) edition and if you prefer ATI Radeon, GIGABYTE GV-R577SO-1GD Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card should be a good choice. GT220 isn't that bad. You can go with the ati card its great.

Does the nVidia GT220 support PCI-E 1.0?

I just found that my motherboard only has a PCI-E 1.0 but I noticed that the GT220 descriptions say it's a PCI-E 2.0, but is it still backwards compatible?|||Yes, 2.0 is backward compatible with 1.0

It will not run at 2.0 speed, but it will work just fine.

Can my GT220 run BF3 at Max Settings?

I just bought a GT220, for $600 off the local retailer, and I've preorded BF3. The guy at the store told me that the GT220 can handle ANYTHING, it will play BF3 at 300 fps. But at the moment i can only handle minecraft at 10 fps. Do i have to warm it up? And can it handle BF3?|||yes it could|||I'm sorry but you got MASSIVELY ripped off.

The store completely lied to you. A GT220 is worth more like $80 not $600 and is now fairly weak. I would be surprised if a GT220 ran BF3 on medium let alone maximum. You can get a much better card that will run BF3 better for under $150 from newegg if you are in North America, or pc case gear in Australia.

I recommend a Nvidia GeForce GTX460 (will run BF3 on high) if you are tight on cash, or a GTX580 (will run BF3 on max) if you have a lot of money to spend. Remember you will also need a half decent CPU and RAM.|||I hope that you're either trolling or you missed a zero on that video card. If not, congratulations, you paid about $580 too much.

And that card will barely run BF3, if at all.|||sorry but the gt 220 is a low end card.. if i were u id go get my money back NOW..

I can't afford 5570 and I can have low profile only. Those two seem to be about the same.|||Didn't i already answer this question 5 minutes ago? :/ The GT220 is a lot better.|||GT is not a lot better. I would say about equal. Just get whatever needs least power then. I know the 9600GT is better than the GT240, I actually think that the 4650 is a little better.

Ive got a corei3-530,2gb DDR3 ram,gt220 1gb ddr3...wana know if all of the latest game will play on my pc?

want to know what version of shader have my graphic card??thanx for your ans..|||Check out this website. http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/CY…

It's not 100%, but it gives you a basic idea.|||it should support up to shader model 4, directx 10, and pretty much anything else that games currently use

directx 11 is shader model 5

be aware however that 2 gigs of ram wont allow you to max any games graphics out, if you have 64 bit go straight up to 4 gigs of ram if 32 bit get 64 bit since 32 bit isnt taking full advantage of that processor or ram then get 4 gigs of ram.

your graphics card is somewhat erm bad. it will run any current game or should do but you will struggle to get all settings onto even medium for newer games id say look at saving up for a ati 5770 hd or 5750 would still beat that card by a long way|||That's a good CPU, and RAM selection, but I would recommend increasing your video card. I just got my gaming rig in the mail yesterday, and I'm VERY pleased with it. I have an HD Radeon 5770, and I can play games like MW2, DAO etc. maxed.

It's definitely worth waiting for an HD Radeon 5770 because as games get better graphics, you will need to upgrade your hardware. Getting this card instead will:

1) Last longer

2) Have a LOT more performance

Good luck!|||Yep you can play latest games like GTA Episodes form LC, etc

You got a nice processor and card but just buy some more memory

Your SHADER VERSION is 4.1 thats enough for gaming

Is this worth 400 bucks amd athlon 64 3600+ 2gb ram and nvidia 1gb graphics gt220?

If you are just talking about the CPU, ram, & Video Card, no. If it is a complete system, as they say "The devil is in the Details". So, without knowing if this is a complete system and no information on brand/model numbers of components, no this is not worth it.

Also, for more specific answers, let us know what you plan to do with this computer/components. Is this for computer games, checking email, surf the net, video editing, etc.

thanks|||For a whole computer system (monitor, keyboard/mouse, speakers): maybe.

For the components themselves: no. I can get all of those for around $150.|||not really, the pricing is well calculated... u might just wanna build ur own pc under $700, and 3x better than that.. that thing sounds like $300.

cheapo oem case = $40

athlon 64 = $54

2gb ram (depends of ddr1 ddr2 or ddr3) lets say its = $60

gt 220 = $65

mobo and psu = $100

calculated = $319 over all, the $81 left is the profit of the store and manufacturer.

Is it possible to overclock your motherboard to support more ram?

My mother board only supports 2gb ram but it has got two slots, i tried previously many times to make it work 4gb of ram but it starts to hang a lot.

My pc specs

Intel 945gc

Windows 7 64bit

Nvidia gt220 1gb ddr2

2gb ram currently

500watts smps|||NO! Overclocking does not affect the capabilities of the board. If the board supports 2 GB of ram that is all it will handle. The 2 slots are to allow 2 cards of 1GB each which may run as dual channel.

What graphics card do I need to run cad software like autocad?

I want to be able to run autocad like butter, but right now all I have is a Nvidia GT220. It can't run it fast enough. I was looking into buying the 6870 from ati, but I was also looking at the GTX 460 or something along those lines. Any help would be appreciated.|||The Autodesk site provides a list of certified hardware for running AutoCAD:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/hc?…

I have found the Nvidia Quadro cards to be fast and stable as they have drivers specifically optimised for running AutoCAD and other 3D CAD apps:

On the page below, look at the video titled 'See the productivity advantage you get in AutoCAD 2011 when using Quadro.'

http://www.nvidia.com/object/bfp_autocad…

It gives a comparison between Quadro cards and consumer cards.|||The GT 220 seems good enough for basic use.

Anyway, for autocad i would recommend ATI because it has a VERY high amount of Texels or T/s (which is good for inventor). The nvidia GTX 460 is cheaper then the 6870 (on newegg.com ) And would be sufficient enough for tasks on autocad that are pretty complex. And the 6870 is just as good.

All in all i would actually go with the 6870. It will be very good for software like autocad. (20,000 Mpixels and 50,000 MTexels/s) Which is better then the 460.

**Edit- Wow i said that? Sorry listen to the one above

I can get a really good deal on an Nvidia GT220 for less the $45?

It would replace an Nvidia GT9880. Is this a good deal?|||You wonder why that is such a "good deal" that card is horrible - see if you can get a "deal on a GT240 that is the min card you want. There is no such thing as an GT9880 did you type that wrong?|||Not bad.|||the gt220 is slower... get a atleast 250 or 260..|||No because a GT220 is junk, your 9800GT is much better.

Why is 9800gt better than gt220?

the gt220 is released after 9800gt.so gt220 should be better .why is 9800gt better than gt220.how is this possible??one more thing can anyone provide me all graphic cards performance rating of both ati and nvidia???|||This is because GT220 is designed with a few graphical processor just enough to run games at lowest settings while 9800GT although being older but have a not more graphical processor to it.

If you must crunch the numbers

GT220 were made with 48 CUDA cores where

9800GT were made with 112 CUDA cores

GT220 Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 25.3

9800GT Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 57.6

GT220 Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 15

9800GT exture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 33.6

So one is new but designed for lower end user, Another one 1 - 3 years older but designed for intensive gaming.|||Vince has the right idea...the 9800gt was made...at that time.. as a flat out hard core gaming card. the gt220 was made so the low end "entry level" computers could at least play games. since the 220 works with out more need for power (no extra sockets...300W or less) the 9800 needs 400W+ and a 6 pin power pick-up, factory machines don't have. This sort of thing is nothing new...you can buy a HD 4670 1Gb card in AGP...it came out LONG after AGP was dead!|||It's actually "much" better...

i presume you mean a pci-express x1 slot.... and if this is correct then your answer is no.... however do you mean pci-express v2.1 ... ( a version of the pci-express x16 slot ) ..... if you mean this then the answer is yes

however theres very few (if any ) new computers that dont come with a pci-express x16 slot..... even oem pc,s like acer and dell come with a pci-express x16 slot so i would imagine yours also has a pci-express x 16 slot

your best bet is to either post a additional comment with the name of your pc (including make and model no ) ..... or contact me with the same information, then i can assist you further

i hope this has helped max

good luck mate !|||As long as the slot is PCI-E x16, it will fit and work fine. The version (1.1, 2.0, 2.1 etc) of a PCI-E x16 card or motherboard slot does not matter, they are all backwards compatible.

What will NOT work is putting a PCI-E x16 card into a PCI-E x1 slot, because those are much shorter.

Is Gigabyte GeForce GT220 OC 1GB a good gaming card?

i wanna be able to max everything in these games:

Fallout 3

Crysis

Crysis Warhead

Oblivion:TES

Napoleon:Total War

GTA IV

COD6

and some more i cant remember right now

but will i be able to max those games with Gigabyte GeForce GT220 OC 1GB?|||No; even OC'd it's still a low-end card. Crysis and GTA 4 will give you more slowdown than the other games mentioned too.|||NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Don't let the 1gb of memory fool you. That is a very poor performing card - If you want to play something like crysis and COD6 you'll want at least a GT250 to be able to even think about maxing out those games. you would only be able to play those on LOW at best and medium with a GT240.|||Before you read all, Ill give you a resource that will change your life:

www.systemrequirementslab.com

there you can test all games with your PC and will recommend you exactly what you need to run it normally or in the bets way!

So now with the answer from 4745454b at tomshardware:

If you want to really play games, better not to get a GT 220.

If you want Nvidia, I'd say get a GTS 250. If you're open to all brands, then a 5770 or 4870 1GB are both good cards for gaming that can be had in the $140-160 dollar range. A 5750 is decent as well and goes head to head with the GTS 250 and costs less than a 5770. You also get DX11 and Eyefinity with the 5700 series card, so you can play any game you want!

the GT220 can play these games. There is a difference however in being able to play the game and PLAY the game. Sure the GT220 can run it, you won't get any error messages about missing DX9 or SM3 support. But for many if your going to play, it should look as best as possible. This means every detail setting should be on max. You should have at least 2/4AA enabled as well. You should also be playing on 1680x1050 or better. For example, I play TF2 on my 8800GS. I have every detail setting on high, with the exception of AA which is at 2xMSAA. I play at 1680x1050. This is an example of PLAYing the game. I used to have an x1800XT, and could do the same, but only at 1280x1024. Going to 1600x1200 was to much for that card.

If your willing to turn settings off, or you play at a lower resolution, you don't need anything more then the GT220. If you want everything to look good, then your going to need the hardware to do it. And as much as some in this thread have claimed, its not the GT220.

I need help with nvidia Geforce gt220 graphics card?

This is a simple question can nvidia Geforce gt220 play games like gta 4 and crysis clearly and games for this new gen, I don't want anything else saying get this graphic card just want to know if it can handle those games and I have a 2.67 gb ram|||No!

this can only get an average of lik 15-20 fps in call of duty waw

here is the review:

i feel that 30-60 fps is needed to play smoothly. It could not handle Crysis.

Video graphics card decision: Giga Rade 4650 1Gb vs Giga 9500gt 512Mb vs MSI GT220 512Mb?

so I gotta figure this stuff out:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=Property&N=2010380048&StoreType=-1&CompareItemList=N82E16814125260%2cN82E16814127456%2cN82E16814125253&PropertyCodeValue=696%3a33099%2c679%3a44046%2c679%3a42535%2c679%3a49650%2c683%3a20729%2c683%3a10557%2c683%3a24927%2c683%3a40784%2c685%3a9618%2c685%3a9619%2c684%3a9613%2c684%3a40865%2c684%3a9614%2c686%3a25271%2c686%3a42010&bop=And

Here's the Comp I'm building:

APEX-T-381 case [Mid tower MicroATX]

StarTech ATX2PW550PRO 550W ATX12V 2.01 Power Supply

ASRock A780GMH Motherboard (w/ PCI express 2.0 port for the Graphics card)

AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor

Kingston HyperX 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)

VISON V221WD Black 21.6" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor (might upgrade this soon)

Operating Systems: Linux Mint (8), Open Suse (11.2), Mandriva 2010, and Win XP Home Ed. (SP3)

What I will be doing and playing:

-Assassin's Creed 2

-Splinter's cell conviction

-Prototype

-GTA 4

-NFS shift

-a WRC Rally game *aka no graphics heavy first person shooters like crysis*

-Video editing

-Live TV, Recorded TV and DVD's (don't own a TV)

-Maybe a tiny bit of manual overclocking, but nothing ridiculous, as a can't afford crazy fans, water coolers or temp monitors.

Parameters (if you know something that would work better please let me know!):

-at or under $50

-fits into a somewhat small case (that can apparently fit a GT250, but still, less cramped the better)

-NOT LOUD

-not going to be competing online so frame rate isn't "vital", but I'd like to be able to max every game above as much as possible for $50 or less (and have it run smoothly). consider me less of a gamer and more of a multimedia user.

the 3 I'm choosing between all have unique pros and cons, I'm not sure which of them are important

--------------------------------------…

Gigabyte NVidia GeForce 9500GT (512mb)

Pros

-best Mem clock speed (1600Mhz which is 2x as much as competitors)

-GDDR3 instead of GDDR2 memory (I'm assuming these two pros are linked)

Cons

-only one w/ directX 10 instead of 10.1

-Oldest of the 3 (which could be a pro because it seems to have plenty of good reviews)

--------------------------------------…

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 4650 (1GB)

Pros:

-1Gb of GDDR2 ram

Cons:

-everything else is average, and I've heard 1Gb is pretty useless unless you are a super gamer.

--------------------------------------…

Gigabyte NVidia GT 220 (512Mb)

-I think this is the newest model to come out (supposedly a replacement for the 9500GT)

-48 stream processors (compared to the other two's 32)

-OpenGL 3.1 support (and dX 10.1) - other 2 are 2.1

Cons

-slightly slower core clock speed (625Mhz compared to 650 for the other two)

-Can't find many reviews

WHICH WOULD YOU PICK?

more processing units (GT 220) and support for OGL3.1?

2x as much ram (4650)?

GDDR3 and twice as much MC speed, but no dX 10.1 (just reg DX 10)?

Thank you so much for your response. have a great day!|||Ok, for 2 reasons I say pick the GT 220.

#1 - ATi drivers for Linux are spotty at best (and that's only when they're available)

#2 - The GT 220 is a bit faster than a 9500 GT and it has the DX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.1

http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarti…

There's a performance review.|||don't go for the more ram. At this point, 1gb video cards suck shyster compared to some 512mb cards. in the same price range. A high-quality 512mb card will get you much better performance than any 1gb in the same price range. More RAM is not better. Just the opposite in most cases. Go for the GDDR3 or whatever the heck it is. Go for higher speed, screw memory capacity. That doesn't mean jack.|||Well, you aren't going to max out all games with a $50 card. The minimum threshold for anyone dipping their toes into GTA 4 waters would be the Radeon 4670- which is about $15 more expensive, but twice as fast as a 9500GT. Given that systems with $150 graphics cards still have trouble maxing out GTA, the performance gain/price is just too much to ignore. But that game aside, I think you'd be be fine with your current choices.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Of the cards you've listed, I'd probably go with the GDDR3 9500GT card.

You are correct that having 1gb vs 512mb doesn't matter unless you're gaming at VERY high resolutions (higher than 1900x1200, which cards in this price range can't realistically handle anyway)

When comparing gaming performance of GDDR2 cards, the 4650 beats the 9500GT:

http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,65935…

http://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-6278-v…

I consider DirectX 10.1 support to be a non-issue. Since DX11 is already here, I don't expect developers to be spending much time trying to take advantage of that. OpenGL support is almost meaningless for games, but if your days are spent in Photoshop, the GT220 with 3.1 support might be the shrewd pick.

http://gizmodo.com/5368037/directx-101-v…

One final thought: TV-out and DVD playback is generally better on ATI cards than Nvidia cards- it's been that way for years. ATI's Avivo technology simply beats Nvidia's Purevideo in terms of image quality. In fact, I notice the quality difference even with regular output to LCD monitors. If that's more important to you than gaming performance, then go with the 4650 (or as I suggested, spend $15 more and get a 4670)|||If you are mostly wanting to play games but can't afford a good computer, I really recommend second thinking the computer part. Consoles are going to give you a lot smoother frame rate and better graphics than a bottom of the line computer. I'm not sure if you had other tasks in mind, but you may want to just think about getting a PS3 as you can install Linux on it.|||I would pick the ATI 4650, it has better performance than the other 2 cards. The stream processors in the ATI card are 320 not 32.

If you could afford another 15$ go for the 4670 with GDDR3 memory instead of GDDR2.

9600gt gt220 or hd4650?

which one is good and cheapest in india

can i play justcause 1 and 2 on it gta 4 ?what is the price of gt230 in india? is it under 3500?|||9600GT > Hd4650 > Gt220

9600Gt = Around 4000 rs

Hd4650 = 3830rs

Gt 220 = 3915rs

Good luck

you should go with 9600 1 GB|||All the three cards are very slow and bad ones. You buy RADEON 5770 1gb card. GTA 4 graphics is very high. these cards are not capable of displaying that high graphics. Cheap cards are only for HD Videos, not for gaming.

GT220 1GB graphic card is good?

for cod black ops, crysis, prototype, assassin's creed brotherhood...????|||Hmm no. Trust me. It's OK, but you won't get satisfactory performance in games. I had one, and recenty upgraded to a GTX460. The performance difference is insane. The GT220 is OK for older games (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Need For Speed Most Wanted/Carbon, Overlord, Left 4 Dead, etc. etc.) but not for the new stuff like Black Ops, Brotherhood and least of all Crysis 2. Crysis 1 will be OK, as can Prototype, but you won't get the nice performance these games need... :)

Reason for Editing: "...you WON'T get satifsactory..."|||It's actually a pretty slow card, it's about as fast as an old GeForce 7900 GT or 9500GT . So no it's a not a good card.

It will play Assassin's Creed albeit somewhat poorly. Black Ops will run quite poorly, Crysis will probably be unplayable. I don't know about Prototype, as I've never played it. But for the games you listed, in order to run them at least have way decently you'll want a GeForce 8800GT/9800GT/GTS 250 at the minimum or a Radeon 48xx/56xx card.|||Depends what resolution your running, but if youre using a high resolution then you are going to have to play on lowish graphics (that card should play those games though as long as you tone down the settings a bit )|||its only good for low resolution monitors.it cant do 1920x1200 (not to mention 2560x1600).1024x768 it would struggle a little.|||this is enough for all

I played first three of them with geforce210..

didn't play brotherhood...

score 10832 from NVIDIA GeForce GT 220

Is NVIDIA gt220 good for black ops at 1024*768 resolution?

I am thinking about buying a NVIDIA Ge-force gt220 for playing cod4 or black ops at 1024*768 resolution i have a 20 inch monitor and my specs are:

12gb ddr3 ram

core i5 2nd gen @ 3.2 ghz

LG Blu ray combo

Viewsonic 20 inch screen 1680*1060

Asus Motherboard

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

It runs Bad company 2 pretty good.|||If you put a GT220 into that setup and it lagged whilst running Black-Ops at 1024*768 then I'd ask for a refund on the GT220 as they would have actually sold you a mars bar!!

Sarcasm aside, it'll run without any issue and you'll be playing at a higher resolution than 1024*768 I would think.

Of course, with that setup I'd consider saving a little bit more and getting a better card.|||I played it with

geforce 210 1 gb ddr2

2gb ddr2 667mhz ram

c2d e4500 2.2 ghz

I prefer 9400GT|||the GT 220 is just a slightly underclocked 9600 GSO with almost no memory to speak of (128-bit GDDR3) which a 4670 beats by a few frames. Given that information, I guarantee a 9400gt will stomp it.

Is the XFX GeForce GT220 Video Card 1024MB DDR2 good for some hardcore gaming?

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/… That's the card I'm getting. I only have 90 dollars to spend for a graphics card and was wondering if this one is good enough for GTA4 and Crysis.

Is the card better than the 8800 GTX 768 MB?|||No its not very good for gaming at all. The 8800GTX kills it. The ammount of memory doesnt tell you much about a card's performance. The GT220 is an entry level card, DDR2 memory is very slow compared to DDR3 (which is what the 8800 has), memory interface matters too and a lot of other things.

Long story short, this card will hardly play games well, yet alone for hardcore gaming, dont buy, save up your money for something better.|||No. Unfortunately a gtx 260 (ATI 4850, 4870) are the minimum to play Crysis on an acceptable Frame Rate.

Is a Nvidia Geforce GT220 a good graphics card?

I am going to buy a new computer soon. Here are the specs:

18.5 inch monitor

8GB ram

1TB hard drive

Intel Core i5 processor

And NVIDIA GeForce GT220

I am just wondering if this computer is good overall and if that is a good graphics card. THANX|||220 is a low end card BUT...when paired with a good CPU (like your i5) it will run games flawlessly. Ive got a 220 paired with a low end core 2 duo and it runs MW2, fallout 3 and source games on highest settings.

If you have the extra cash get a 240 ddr3 instead. Its a much better card and not too much more.|||YES That is an amazing computer -8GB, i5, GT220 is fast-|||Seems fine overall. What is that monitor size 18.5" ? I think at least 20" monitors have higher resolution and not much more expensive. 22" will have much bigger screen size with same at least 1680x1050 resolution.

GT 220 is really a low end card, even older 9500GT sometimes is faster. Yeah you can run some older games on high settings with it but what resolution? 800x600? may be 1024x768? not enough...

GT 240 would be a better option (512MB GDDR5 is much better than 1GB DDR3 model by the way - check benchmarks). But older 9800GT is much better. ATI 5670 512MB GDDR5 is much better too - both just a little bit more expensive but offer nearly double performance. Look at this chart:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gefo…

9800GT and 5670 are about $85-90 shipped vs $60-70 for GT 220 but they are not even on the benchmark - they are much higher above 9600GSO listed on top.

8GB ram is an overkill in most cases - do you run professional video editing software? Then may be.

No other reason other than that. It's just a heck of a lot faster. You don't see this unless you aredoing alot of computing. And you have a basis of comparison but yeah, that's all.|||Double Data Rate 3 because it is newer more energy effecient. the Double Data Rate 3 cost about the same as Double Data Rate 2.|||Really?

You really can't figure that out on your own

You can't look at the numbers and see which is better|||Wait for the NVIDIA GTX 465 GDDR5 that will be coming out this summer ... GDDR5 is better!!!!!

Nvidia geforce gt220 graphics card is for what?? gaming or video, animation?

it's for everything you see on your screen|||It's a decent card if your on a budget, it's basically a repackaged 9600 gt that takes less power supply from what I'm hearing. If your looking to go into 'hardcore' gaming then you'll need something better, but if your just looking for something that can run new games at medium/high settings, then this is *okay*.|||Geforce GT 220 is not so good card for the performance and its price however it still can handle latest games on medium settings.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/2855/6

The best substitute for Geforce GT 220 would be Radeon HD 4670 or Radeon HD 5570.as they costs the same and gives 40% more performance.for bufget cards,Radeon HD 4670 and HD 5570 are good options.|||No, that's a very weak video card. Definitely not for gaming but it would be OK for image editing.

Nvidia Geforce 9800gt vs. Nividia geforce gt220?

Recently my desktop broke-down and dell sent me a new one for free. They said that some of the parts that I had on my old desktop were now obsolete or out of stock, but they said that the new one wouldn't fall below the gaming capability of my old desktop or would be better. As you can probably guess my old card was a Nvidia Geforce 9800GT and the one that comes w/ my new desktop is a Nvidia Geforce GT220. Since I prefer to make sure they didn't half-*** my computer I wanted to see which is better, worse or the same.|||The 9800GT is a much better card, dell took advantage of you.

Obsolete? Out of stock? Heres 24, 9800GT's still available on newegg.com.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…|||Call DELL back and complain. according to the passmark G3D benchmark the GeForce 9800GT comes with a score of 945 compared to the GT220's score of 487. see for yourself at

1GB NVIDIA(R) GeForce GT220 (DVI, VGA, HDMI) or 256MB ATI Radeon HD 3450?

Which would would run black ops, assassin creed or GTA liberty city better at about the 1024*768 resolution and have a smoother gameplay? 1GB NVIDIA(R) GeForce GT220 (DVI, VGA, HDMI) or 256MB ATI Radeon HD 3450?|||Both are budget cards but HD 3450 is pretty weak for gaming and just good for HD videos. 1GB graphics memory would be mostly underutilized at low resolution. A stronger card like the GT240 even with just 512MB would be a better proposition even at medium resolution.

Which is better the gt500 or the gt220?

Im getting a 1gb Gt500 or a 1gb Gt220 but im not sure which is better?|||No such thing as a Gt500....?

Is nVidia 9500GT and Nvidia GT220 1GB a good video card?

Which of the two are better?

Thanks.|||They are ok entry level cards for people on a limited budget who aren't heavy gamers. Between them, the GT220 is faster than the 9500GT.

http://www.techspot.com/review/245-ati-r…

Serious gamers generally don't choose $50 cards like those.. they opt for video cards in the $90-$150 range or higher.|||I wouldn't buy either of them.

Is windows 7 a good operating system for gaming?

I am getting a new computer and have a question about some of the specifications...first and most importantly should i get the windows 7 upgrade and stiil be able to play all the games...?

Second how good compared to others is the NVidia GT220 video card compared to others from NVidia series...?|||Of course! I've been using the pre-release (Win 7 (RC) Ulimate 64 bit since May and it has been pretty awesome in gaming.

Windows 7 supports the latest DX11. ATI started releasing their new HD 5xxx series of DX 11 cards and Nvidia will do the same in a few months. GT220 is just a DX10 card that is quite similar to the older 9600 GSO (w/ 48 stream processors) but just 128 bit memory interface. I would expect the GT200 to perform better than a 9500GT; not spectacular really. You might want to consider postponing your purchase a bit to wait for Nvidia's DX11 cards or just opt to get the ATI HD 57xx series;

http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/177…

http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/177…

They are quite comparable to the GTS 250 but are more future-proof (in terms of DX11 support).

Win XP only supports DX9.0c and Vista up to DX10.1. The GT 220 will just run at DX10 in Windows 7.

Could i play mmorpg without lag or little with amd athlon 64 3400 (2.4 ghz), 1 GB RAM, Nvidia geforce GT220?

WOW or S.U.N.?|||Like the other poster said, this will depend on your settings. If you set everything to low and reduce the effects you should be able to play just fine. When it comes to memory, 1GB isn't really much and the GT220 is on the lower end of video cards. I have a 260GTX and I still have lag in some areas of WoW.|||most mmorpg gamming lag depends on your internet connection (your net pings etc) and your internet speed, the mmorpg server (game) and also how much people are on that particular server at that point in time...|||yes , check the system requirments on the product information or the back of the game, or online like play.com|||Depends on your settings and internet connection.

But you should be just fine.

My kids want to play Sims 3. which video card is better 1024mb nvidia GeForce GT220 or ATI Radeon HD 4850?

4850

The GT220 is a budget card. According to Passmark, it is much lower in performance than the 4850 too, even moreso than I thought off the top of my head

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_e…

Is there a way to lower the power of a graphic card?

I recently obtained a GTX260 in favor of my former GT220. It's a better card, but with the unfortunate side of effect of being noisy as well as eating up a ton of power. Is there way to weaken the power of the card for simple tasks and bump up the power when I need to use it for gaming?|||You could use a piece of Overclocking software to Downclock your card. Unfortunately, nVidia cards don't come with a piece of overclocking software so you'll just have to search on google. ATI however, does come with one within the Catalyst Control Centre (CCC). Although you can not use it.|||It's power-usage is mostly determined by what it does. If it works harder (for instance when playing a game) it wil use more power. Powerusage is determined by the amount of labour performed and the efficiency at which this is done. I may assume the manufacturer wil have made the card as efficient as possible so better just rely on that.

The noisy fan is a feature of the card, best live with it or get another card. There may be a utility available to lower the fanspeed but that always has a danger of overheating the gpu. A real computer-geek might consider replacing the fan but apart from being tricky that also costs money. Also a fan doesn't use that much power. You might get some self-adhesive sound-isolation mats to put on the inside of your casing, this might lower the sound a bit.

PS: yup downclocking might be an idea when possible, didn't think of that....|||Yes, there are softwares called overclocking softwares for graphics cards, just google it|||You're trying to do something that happens automatically. Throttling based on usage has been common for years.

Will SLI Video cARD REPLACE MY GT220 IF MY MOTHERBOARD HASS NO SLI?

Is NVIDIA GeForce GT220 1024MB DDR3 a good enough video card to run MS flight sim x on max settings?

I'm looking at buying a pc primarily to use MS flight sim, and I don't know **** about video cards and computers but is a NVIDIA GeForce GT220 1024MB DDR3 good enough to run the game on high-max settings?

I've also heard that it's as much about the processor as it is graphics card so in saying that is Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor E8400 good enough?

Sorry if my question seems really ignorant but I don't wanna **** up in buying all this ****.|||You heard right, FSX is 90% cpu driven. Due to the levels of physics involved. Anything above a 7900gtx (which you are) is as good as your GPU needs to be. I could play near max with a 2.66ghz e6750. So you should just about make it with the e8400 3.0ghz. Possibly may need a slight overclock.

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gamin…|||Why buy such a crap card? Its basically just a rebranded version.

Get someone decent for the same cash.

Vga cooler for palt gt220 series...?

is there vga cooler for palit gt220??

i want to replace my old cooler to a new one thats more good in cooling,,,

my vga is a palit gt220...

please help... i really need it......please....:'(|||Your stock cooler should have more than enough cooling. Unless you're heavily overclocking it, it which case you should save the money and get a better graphics card. Seriously the 220 is rubbish for gaming.

You'll probably struggle to find one as many vga coolers are for high-end gfx cards, nobody would waste money on a low end one.

Gta iv and nvidia gt220?

I am thinking of buying a tower which has 4 gig rAM and intell quad core I know the ram and the processor are fine I wana no if the nvidia gt220 is good enough for it to play nicely|||use this site below, it tells you if it works or not.

Nvidia Gt220 Video Card?

Which video card is similar to gt220 1gb gddr3?|||It is in the range of the 9500GT to 9600GT

Gt220 - Processors Cores: 48

9500GT - Processors Cores: 32

9600GT - Processors Cores: 64

Which one shoud i buy asus 9800 GT or GT220.?

A 9800 GT is much better than a 220

But in that same price range, an ATI Radeon 4770 will perform better than both. Or a 4850 if you can find one in stock

Better Graphics Card? ATI Radeon HD3200 or NVIDIA GeForce GT220?

Which one is better? I am looking to play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.|||No contest. GeForce GT 220 is by far better.

The Radeon HD 3200 is usually an integrated graphic chipset, and is marginal for playing Oblivion.|||Yup, GT220 by a mile.

If you had to choose video cards, which one would you choose. Geforce gt220 or ATI radeon HD 4670?

The gt220 i'm looking at is 1GB ddr2 128 bit. The HD 4670 is 512MB ddr3 128 bit. Which one would be better for gaming???? My setup is athlon 64x2 2gb ddr2 667 ram. And I WAS running an 8600gt, but it overheated now i'm running integrated. My brother usually helps me, but he wont answer my question without saying get a 9600gt. I'm broke and looking for affordable. Something to get me playing Oblivion again. Thanks|||The GDDR3 Radeon 4670.

It's not close, GDDR3 cards are much faster than GDDR2 cards... Yes, the 9600GT is even faster than the 4670, but costs about $20 more.

Here's how they compare in a really high level game (Crysis).

http://hothardware.com/Articles/ATI-Rade…

For reference, the GT220 is about 25% faster than a 9500GT.

Oh, having 1gb vs 512mb only matters when running at super-high resolutions, like 2560x1600, so don't be fooled by a slower card with 1gb.|||The Radeon will stomp the GT220, no question. If you look at benchmarks, there's very little difference in performance above 512MB anyway. The 4670 is an excellent choice if you're on a budget.
