Can i Put GT220 1GB GDDR3 PCI-E Gigabyte graphics card on a PCI - E 1.1 slot ?

Hello

so i bought a new computer

it has dual core intel processor (E5700)

Intel G41 Chip set

and the question is

Can i put VGA GF GT220 1GB GDDR3 PCI-E Gigabyte Video Card On a PCI-E 1.1 Slot ?|||Yes, it will work fine as long as it is an x16 slot. Plug it in and reboot. No extra power plug needed.

Good luck.|||no|||hi max

i presume you mean a pci-express x1 slot.... and if this is correct then your answer is no.... however do you mean pci-express v2.1 ... ( a version of the pci-express x16 slot ) ..... if you mean this then the answer is yes

however theres very few (if any ) new computers that dont come with a pci-express x16 slot..... even oem pc,s like acer and dell come with a pci-express x16 slot so i would imagine yours also has a pci-express x 16 slot

your best bet is to either post a additional comment with the name of your pc (including make and model no ) ..... or contact me with the same information,then i can assist you further

i hope this has helped max

good luck mate !|||As long as the slot is PCI-E x16, it will fit and work fine. The version (1.1, 2.0, 2.1 etc) of a PCI-E x16 card or motherboard slot does not matter, they are all backwards compatible.

What will NOT work is putting a PCI-E x16 card into a PCI-E x1 slot, because those are much shorter.
