How can i hook three monitors up to my dell xps 8100 with a nvidia gt220 graphics card?

just bought it.. i have 2 20 inch monitors and 1 22 inch monitor i was going to put in the middle. thanks|||That will NEVER work. Don't even think it.

The GT220's GPU chip is designed to support TWO monitors only.

nVidia did not implement triple-monitor support on its consumer-grade (i.e. non-workstation) GPUs until they released the new GTX400-series of cards a couple weeks ago.

The only other consumer-grade GPUs that support triple monitors are the ATI Radeon HD5000-series, and those have been around since late last year. The Radeon HD5000s go one further-- The ones with DisplayPort can support Eyefinity, which allows certain games to span the game screen over three monitors. The third monitor needs to have a DisplayPort jack though.|||I don't think the HDMI out is another monitor support. You can plug a monitor into the VGA and one into the DVI then go to the nvidia icon in the system tray and you can mess with it there. Last time I did this with an nvidia card I could change the orientation of the screens from clones, side by side, and set them to be vertical.

Do all modern video cards have multi-monitor support?

I am considering either the 1024MB nVidia GeForce GT220 OR the ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB GDDR5 on a new Dell and want to be able to run dual monitors. It is difficult to get a straight answer from Dell.

Thanks in advance.|||The nVidia GT220 supports dual monitors.

The ATI Radeon HD5670 has two different versions. The version with no DisplayPort supports two monitors only. The version with a DisplayPort supports THREE monitors (using ATI's Eyefinity technology). The third monitor must have a DisplayPort jack for triple-monitor to work though. Not sure which version of the HD5670 is available with your Dell, but you can ask them if it has a DisplayPort jack before you order.

Hope this helps.|||I have an MSI R4670-MD1G Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card. I have had no problems with it. plays all of my games at high - very high quality. so if you are looking to get a 5670.... go for it! I actually went from a GeForce to my Radeon and i couldn't be happier. And as far as multi-monitor support, i think most cards do. unless you get a really small cheap one.|||Probably because Dell has nothing to do with the video cards.

If you'd look at any pictures of the cards, as it seems you can't do that, you'd see that there are multiple outputs on the cards.|||I looked at each card, it looks like they both can but i would do more research.

This one works on the GT 240, so it will work on the GT 220.

Iam using xfx geforce nvidia gt220 1gb ddr2 to how much extent i can overclock it?

i used evga precesion to overclock it as i cannot control the fan speed i set it to core clock-500mhz,mem clock 400mhz and the temp is currently48c.this temp is the temp when it is idle ..and importantly i did not fix any extra heat sink or anything in addtion to what i received with the graphic card..i have only one 120mm fan inside the cpu and no other fans|||well it really depends on your case and your cooling of our case, but since it doenst seem like you have good cooling, i would say a 10% overclock is your limit

If you own the Minitower yes. You have a PCI Express x 16 slot and a 305 watt PSU. The GT 220 requires a 300 watt PSU. Plus if I can run a EVGA GT 220 in an older Dell Dimension 8400 you should have no problem. Now not so sure about the Desktop version. You have the PCI Express x 16 slot for the card but only a 280 watt PSU. This really should not be a problem though. I have run a EVGA 9600 in the same Dell tower I wrote above and it requires a 400 watt PSU and the Dell only has a 350 watt one. Nothing has blown up yet. Thing that is confusing me is this is stated at the link you gave:

One low-profile on board

Riser Option*: Combo x16/PCI Riser

* One low profile PCI slot remains available on board when riser is in-

Now that is a low profile card and if you need to use the low profile bracket you will lose the VGA connection. Not a problem if you need the VGA because you can buy a DVI to VGA converter. Thing is I do not understand all that Riser stuff. If I could see the inside of that computer I could tell right off. You will have to sort that part out for yourself. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

GeForce GT220 good budget GPU?

for gaming|||With its 48 stream processors, it is good enough for medium game settings and moderate resolution. Better get the one with gddr3 of graphics memory.

GT220 is better than the 9500GT that has only 32 SPs. The GT220 is just a tad below the mainstream category of gaming cards.|||The problem with good, budget and gaming in the same sentence - is that they just don't really go together, and it depends what your budget is:

Not a bad choice in the price range, it's more performance the the Radeon HD5450 at similar prices, unless having DX11 really matters to you.

Games? - need to keep resolution and features tweaked down a bit, may show strain in more demanding sections - its a BUDGET card on a par with a 9500GT.

Look for rebate offers on the next step up...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

A GT240 @ $64.99 after MIR

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Or a HD4670 (which soundly beats it in the review) @ $64.99 after MIR

If you want cheaper than that, then I guess it has to be the GT220 - can be found in 1GB @ $49.99 after rebate - or $42.99 in 512MB

How do i add a 1600x900 resolution?

recently i installed a new graphic cards ,which is the HIS ICE Q 4850, i installed the drivers ,catalyst 9.10 and there is no options to change the resolution to 1600x900. The only options available is 1440x900 and 1600x1200. Before i had the gt220,which allowed me to view 1600x900 but for some reason i am not able to view 1600x900. Does anyone know how i can install 1600x900 resolution?

thanks!|||You might try this...assuming Windows XP

Open Display Properties-> Settings tab, click the Advanced button, click the Monitor tab, in the Monitor Settings area uncheck the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" and apply, then click the Adapter tab, List All Modes button, and see if the resolution is there.

If you trya different resolution and your screen goes black then don't touch anything, it'll count down (it asks you to keep the resolution) and go back without user input.

If the above does not work then it could be an unsupported resolution.|||You can't "install" a resolution. The graphics card either supports it or it doesn't. You should have looked at the specs before you bought it...all resolutions are listed in the specifications.

Inno3d GT220 ddr2 fit in GX620 with 305Watt PSU?

hi

I have tower Optiplex GX620 (pentium 4 Ht 3.2Ghz,2Gb Ram,80Gb HDD,300watt PSU)

can inno3D GT220 fit in GX620?|||hi mate

your motherboard will support the gt220 however you will need to buy a low profile version of the card due to the small form factor case... however even though your Optiplex GX620,s case is small there should be a GT220 that will fit..... for example i have found the "

ASUS GeForce GT 220 Low Profile 1GB GDDR2 HDMI/VGA/DVI PCI-Express"( http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods… ) which should have no problems fitting in your case and it has a decent cooler and some acceptable specifications

however for the same price as you will pay for the low profile GT220 you could afford the "Asus GeForce GT 430 1024MB GDDR3 Low Profile PCI-Express Graphics Card"( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… ) ... this is more powerful than the GT220 and around the same price

its specifications include a 700mhz core clock and 1gb of gddr3 memory running at 1600mhz... theres a 128bit memory interface and 96 stream processors... and with direct x 11 and pixel and shader model 5.0 support ( compared to just direct x 10 in the GT220) this makes a far better card for the same price

and in regards to the power requirements well the GT430 requires a 350w or better psu however dell power supplys are pretty robust and when they state 300w you get that much unlike other psu,s which state 300w and you actually get just 250w.... so you should be ok with your dell 300w psu... however to be sure check your power usage by using the "eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5" at http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalcul…

simply enter your pc,s components and then hit the "calculate" button to see how much power ( in watts ) your pc actually uses... you may be pleasantly suprised.... !

i hope this has helped however any problems let me know

good luck mate !|||Yes it will fit. It is a very small graphics card imo. Just make sure you have a pci-e slot and you will be good to go. You already have enough power with 305 watts

@ brian thanks for taking a look at the case ^ didn't check to see if it was a low profile case ^

Thoughts about gt220 and HD4670 ?

I am gonna get a new graphic card. the question is gt220 or hd4670

they are both 1GB DDR3

and I am gonna play games on my plasma which has a max resolution of 1280 x 720.

I think|||If I were you I'd still try to get at least a 250GTS card for the 256bit, if not a 260GTX. Playing games in 128bit is so unsatisfying to the eyes. If you try to try your max resolution with a 4670 you are going to end up turning the settings down so low that images are going to look like a watercolor world, say in Crysis or other action games. That is where looking at benchmarks scores really fool people. Most benchmark scores are based on systems being run through benchmark tools over and over tweaking down every last setting to get the cards best FPS possible. What we as consumers cannot see is the actual image quality after the bench or game was tweaked to get the max FPS...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

This GTS250 is a very powerful card for the price and has 1gig of DDR3. It doesn't really take a huge PSU for it, and comes with it's own pigtail for hooking it up to 2 4pin molex connectors, for it's power. Just pop it in and go...|||4670 is better

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.a…

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best…

GT240 is better than 4670 and 9600 GT, but costs $90 - the same price as the 9800 GT and is slower than the 9800 GT.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gefo…|||The 4670 is Better. If you can wait until the Palit AMP GT240 DDR5 comes down in price then that would be better than the 4670 and is easier to scale to the TV screen, the ATI cards are a bit of a pain when setting up with a HD TV.

Is the Nvidia GT220 1GB any good?

??|||hi charlie

as mentioned its a budget graphic card however compared to previous budget graphic cards its actually not too bad....

however as you probally knew when you bought it you wont be running any of the latest games at high detail...but for gaming at lower resolutions such as 1024x768 this will actually produce some capable frame rates.. so lets look at the cards specifications

it has a 625mhz core clock and 1gb of gddr3 memory running at 790mhz(1580mhz ddr effective ) ... throw in a 128bit memory interface and this results in a memory bandwidth of 25.2gb/sec... and allthough this isnt a massive bandwidth its a decent amount and better than other budget cards

in terms of power it draws just 58w which also means you dont need any additional power connectors ,and in regards to a power supply a 400w psu should be more than enough to power this card,( 20A or more on the +12v rails )

the gt220 also support pixel and shader model 4.1 and direct x 10.1.. however to take advantage of these you need to have windows vista or better installed... windows xp only support direct x 9 .. allthough you can use this card with windows xp.. but you just wont be able to run games using direct x 10 features

so in reflection the Nvidia GT220 is a capable budget graphic card and with the 1gb of gddr3 memory you experience some great frame rates and lower resolutions

i hope this helps, any problems let me know

good luck charlie !|||it is considered entry level gpu for the 200 series

Nvidia GT220 vs Radeon HD 4650?

I can't afford 5570, so I am thinking about buying those 2. They seem about the same to me. I understand that 4650 is a year older than 220 but 4650 has 320 streaming processors while 220 has only 80 or even less.

It would have to fit in the same slot as the existing display adapter. I hav a gigabyte G31 ES2L, but will Nvidia GT220 wrk on it, its pci-e 2.0 & my m/b is PCI 16x?

Yes, it will work. It just won't work as well as it could. PCIe 2.0 is twice as fast as PCIe x16.

In the following, PCIe x16 is "retro-named", so to speak, as PCIe 1.x:

What is the best 450 watt power supply in the $20-$50 price range?

I just upgraded to a galaxy geforce gt220 video card and need to get 450 watts of power. What is the best option? I'm using it more then anything for audio video editing.|||All of the $25–50 offerings at Newegg are 500+ watts:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…

Not familiar with any of them, and have only heard of a few of the brands (Rosewill, BFG), so I'd check out those with at least 100 ratings in the four "egg" range.|||There are hundreds of power supplies in that power range and price range. Pick one.|||Well newegg.com only has PSU from 550W and up ...try...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||BFG GS-550. It's OK to be a little larger than you need. The power supply will only supply whatever power is necessary. So a 550W power supply won't consume more (wall outlet) electricity than a 450W power supply...unless the system draws close to 500W or more...but in that case a 450W power supply wouldn't work anyway.

Is the Gainward nVidia GT220 video card good for decent framerates?

Im a little bit confuse about memory of that video card i plan to buy,, im not sure if is it ddr2 or ddr3,,

again, can anyone know the real memory type of INNO 3D GT220 1GB 128BIT? was it ddr2 or ddr3?|||Ram memory has nothing to do with GDDR (video card's) memory. You can have DDR2 and GDDR3, DDR3 and GDDR2 and nothing bad will happen (but, ofc GDDR3 is better than GDDR2)

This card's memory is GDDR2, but the whole card is just very weak. If I were you i'd rather save some money and buy HD4850 instead.|||It doesn't matter what type of onboard memory a graphics card has GDDR2, 3 or 5, it won't affect compatibility with your computer.

What I will say though is that the GT220 isn't a good gaming graphics card, but is fine for HD video playback etc. If you're looking to game though, take a look at either an ATI Raedon HD 5670 or Nvidia Geforce GTS 450.

What card is equivalent to NVIDIA GeForce GT220?

i heard its the same as an 9500 GS, if so how good is that card then?|||GT series is NVIDIA's next generation of video cards proceeding the 9xxx series. How good is this card? Not really. Just for office work, and blah. If you want to game, edit video, etc, go for a GT29x series (GeForce GT295 for example) or GeForce 98xx series. For the older series, look at the last three digits; if it begins with something less than 6 (e.g the 9500) it's no good and its just for office work. 6 and higher is for high performance. for the new series, look at the last two digits. if it starts with anything above 2 (e.g the GT295), it's good.|||Equivalent card? Mmmmm, like a GeForce 9500, or a Radeon HD3850.

In otherwords, it doesn't take much to compare to that game graphics requirement!

I hope your question is in reference to a desktop computer, as Very FEW laptops have a graphics card. They have a Graphics Chip, and this is soldered to the motherboard. There is NO changing it!

(Bummer, huh?)

As for an economical, but graphics worthy graphics card, I would suggest this,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

(128 Stream Processors.

Stream Processors, can be thought of as the 'Graphics Information Highway'

Too little a highway, and traffic slows down. Just like road construction on an 8 lane highway. The 8 lanes are melded down into 2 lanes, and traffic slows Way Down! Have enough Stream Processors, and graphics information traffic goes back and forth to the processor with NO Prob!)|||its the same as a 9500gt.

but for gaming, its extremely low-end

What video card is compatible with my emachines el 1600 desktop PC?

Looking for something for gaming, preferably Nvidia GT220 or better. My PC's specs are here: http://emachines.com/products/products.html?prod=EL1600-01|||You are going to have to live with the integrated video on that computer. There are no video card slots nor PCI slots for upgrading anything.|||You can not upgrade using a "good card." You have no PCI express ports, which is what modern video cards are. You have a VGA port. Their are some VGA cards, but they're pretty old technology. You also have an Intel Atom processor... The video card would probably kill the processor. I would suggest getting another computer or just leaving the integrated graphics alone. I know it's not what you wanted to hear. I am using an eMachines T3646, and it is a load of crap... lol.|||There's absolutely no way that machine will run a GT220 without a power supply upgrade, not to mention that a dual core atom with bottleneck it to high heaven, and it doesn't have a slot for it. Also, I poked around, and found that your motherboard only has 1 PCI-E x1 slot, which means you are severely limited in card choice. The best of which being a Radeon 4350, which is in no way an intense gaming card. You're better off investing in a new PC. Sorry.

Is GeForce gt220 good for my PC?

I'm thinking of buying Geforce gt 220 with 1gb memory for my ECS 945G-M3 motherboard with 1gb RAM and a dual core processor @ 1.80 Ghz. I'm using Windows XP SP3.

What do you think about this? Any other suggestions?

And don't say nothing about my PC, I know it's pretty old myself!|||For any type of real gaming, I'd recommend you upgrade your RAM as well to at least 2 GB.

If this is just to watch video or play casual games, then you should be fine with 1GB of RAM, but consider eventually upgrading to 2GB. RAM is pretty cheap nowadays.

Make sure your power supply is up to par before you make the upgrade. The GT 220 doesn't use very much power (about 40W), but if your system is already stressed, it can push the power supply to failure by adding a video card. Be safe and err on the side of caution. The last thing you want is a smoking, popping, crackling, or worse, fiery, power supply.

Should I get the PNY GT220 PCI-E NVIDIA Graphics Card or SAPPHIRE 4650 PCI-E ATI Graphics Card?

2) SAPPHIRE 4650 PCI-E ATI Graphics Card

Both cards are £60

NVidia GT220 OR nVidia GT240?

Basically they're the same price (about $15 -- nothing). But the GT240 is a DDR5 with 512MB of memory. And the GT220 is a DDR2 with 1GB of memory. Is the GT240 worth a little extra? But then again it doesn't have as much video memory, that's what I'm unsure of.|||The GT240 easily. Better card, and much better with DDR5

You'll only need the 1 GB of VRAM if you're using a resolution higher than 1680 x 1050. If you're playing at that or below, the extra 512 mb is basically useless anyways|||Like Lib said, who just answered one of my questions and who is apparently on fire, GT240 for sure. You might also note that the 240 has twice the processing cores as the 220. The video memory will do almost nothing unless you're seriously gaming at higher resolutions, and at that point the extra (extremely slow) memory on the 220 does nothing to make up for its incompetence.

Basically, the 240 is literally a huge step up from the 220. It's really not a fair comparison. 240 for sure. If you have a super high-res monitor, fifteen bucks more gets you 1GB of GDDR5 in a 240.

@Jack, suggesting the 250 is great and it is the "budget" gaming card, but there's a good chance the guy isn't doing any heavy gaming and the extra $50 or so may not be within budget. To the asker, though, if you're willing to fork out another $50, the 250 is the way to go.|||240 easily however i would highly recommend going to 250 or 260 for gaming. 250 is really the minimum budget game card.|||gt240 is a lot better, it is worth the extra cost, especially if you are going to be playing video games.

IS PCI-E 2.0 and PCI-Express the same thing? With that said, can my PC run "EVGA GT220 Video Card 1GB NVIDIA"?

EVGA GT220 Video Card 1GB NVIDIA Graphic DVI HDMI PCIe

So is the pci express 2.0 x16 and pci express the same thing? I currently have a dell dimension e520 and I am getting that graphics card - i have 305 PSU.

Thanks.|||PCI-E 2.0 and PCI-Express are the same thing.basically you say PCI-Ex16 2.0 where 2.0 stands for the version of PCI-E. PCI-E slot available in following types.

PCI-E x1

PCI-E x2

PCI-E x4

PCI-E x8

PCI-E x16

PCI-E x32

to put it simple, all latest graphics cards are using PCI-E x16 2.0 slot.here x16 is width of the PCI-E slot..so if your motherboard have

PCI-E x16 1.0 or 1.1 slot then also every PCI-E x16 2.0 card will work with your computer.this is due to the backward compatibility.most motherboards have PCI-E x16 slot so I guess you also have and so that GT 220 will work with your system.remember that 1.0,2.0 and 1.1 are versions of PCI-E they are not different.

I hope you understand.anyway, don't go with GT 220.instead of that go with ATI Radeon HD 4670

which gives more performance than GT220 and prices are same.as I said, that card will also work with your computer.|||No pci express is a general term for any type of pci. You have to look if both are x16.

Should I get two EVGA GeForce 9500gt's or one GeForce GT220 for running Crysis?

I was wondering which would have better for high powered games like Crysis or Call of Duty 4 if i SLI the 9500s vs getting just one GT220 since you cant SLI the GT220.|||i don't think that would provide enough power atleast for high settings hi res crysis, i have a gtx 470 and at max settings and 1920x1200 i get about 30fps|||I have used this product and it performs really well I would definitely suggest

I have a GT220 what kind of slot does it use? And will I be able to replace it with a GTS 250?|||GT220 is a PCIExpress 16x graphics card.

Yes, you can replace it with a GTS250, but why replace an outdated card with another outdated card?

Get something more recent like a GTX550 or ATI HD6770.

EDITED TO ADD: I also remember you asking in another question if you can hook up three monitors to the GT220, and the answer is NO. If you want triple monitors, get the ATI HD6770. That one will drive three monitors.

Can the Nvidia GT220 display 3 screens simultaneously?

Hi, Ive just ordered a new PC, and it comes with the GT220 graphics card. The card includes a HDMI, DVI and VGA outputs. Im wondering would I be able to output out of all three simultaneously or would only 2 work at a time?

It does say multiscreen on the spec but I just want to know if it can display out of all three at the same time. My plan is to have 2 monitors then have the HDMI plugged into the TV.

Thanks|||No, they only support 2 monitors at a time, but you can use another card to use a 3rd monitor.

You will also need better software like ultramon for managing 3 displays. That gives you a seperate start menu and taskbar on each display, and easily allows you to move one application to another display.|||Just like the previous answer, no. however, you can now get USB video cards, which is 10 times simpler than two graphics cards contending to be the main video card.

Is an ATI Radeon HD 4350 better than an Nvidia Geforce GT220? Need Answers Fast!!!?

Hi, I'm customising a PC online and my model can either have an ATI Radeon HD 4350 or an Nvidia Geforce GT220. I am gaming on a budget. So I aim to play most games on high detail or medium. Just wondering which is better and how much better it is.|||GT220 is better than HD 4350 as its 40nm compared to 55nm resulting in better clocks and also cooler running.|||Okay, then you should get an ATI 4850 it's like $150 and just about the best value I have ever seen in.|||NVidia best for all time

Will a GT 460 fit into a GT220's spot?

I have a GT220 and am NOT satisfied with the graphics as it is laggy on games like Grand Theft Auto IV on max settings. I am wondering if upgrading to a GT 460 will fit in a GT 220's spot.|||Upgrading the graphics card will certainly help, but GTA IV is a PROCESSOR demanding game. I recommend at least a 3.0ghz Quad core for it ideally. Running it on max settings isn't helping either. Turn everything down to medium apart from texture resolution and set the sliders to no higher than 50.

As for the card itself, yes, the GTX 460 will directly replace the GT220 in the slot you just take the old one out and put the new one in.

This brings on to the next question, what power supply have you got? A GTX 460 requires a decent 450w power supply with 2 PCI 6pin connectors. If you don't have this, i'd either get a new pc setup OR get an ATI Raedon HD 5670, which doesn't require these connectors (like the card you have already), but will be at least twice as fast on pretty much all games.

Which graphics card is better? ATI Radeon HD 5450 512MB, Radeon X1900 XT 256 MB, or Nvidia GT220?

I am thinking about buying a new graphics card to play games like Battlefield Bad Company 2, Modern Warfare 2, World of Warcraft, GTA IV, and etc... I only plan to play the games with awesome graphics on medium settings, but World of Warcraft since the graphics aren't the best, I plan on playing that on high settings. But what I was thinking was that the ATI Radeon HD 5450 512MB would be the best one for playing on medium settings.|||where did u come up with a low edition card like radeon x1900 xt it competes with nvidia 7200 only so forget it.

now from above mentioned games i consider that u are a core gamer. see ati cards are for hd videos etc and stress out under game loads especially 5450. here nvidia 220 is cooler under load and can perform long hours of gaming pleasure. 5450 has dx 11 support but forget it, its in the future. so i would suggest u go for gt 220 nvidia but chech out this site before you do

alternatively download the utility "gpu-z" from http://www.filehippo.com/download_gpuz/ ... run this ( no need to install ) and when the small window opens there will be information regarding your graphics card... this will indicate your gt220 is currently running on your pc

finally you can check the bios.... however disabling onboard graphic options differ from pc to pc... so disabling onboard graphics on my pc will be different from yours

however its generally located in either "intergrated peripherals" or "advanced chipset features " ... and theres also another option called "init display first" ... this lets the bios know what video device to use when booting " .... the options are normally 1.pci-e or 2.onboard /agp ... simply select the device that your motherboard supports

also remember to press "save and exit set-up" before exiting the bios.. this will save any changes you have made to the cmos... your pc will then restart as the changes are saved

i hope this helps, however any problems let me know

good luck ogi !|||Install and run Speccy, http://www.piriform.com/speccy . It'll tell you what you're using.|||You're using the one that your monitor cable is connected to :)|||as cman suggests are you plugged into the gt220 ??????

Which is the better graphics card? ATI Radeon 4650 1 GB or nVIDIA Geforce GT220?

Please give ample evidence to support your position. (Links would be nice)|||When you have a company(nvidia) that is continually trying to screw the other(amd/ati) by tricking game developers into putting snippets of code into a game that specifically breaks it on the others hardware... it's no wonder there are patches to fix things. And that is basically what the "The Way it's Meant to be Played" program basically does. Do a little searching, nvidia has been getting a lot of bad press lately. Personally I like ATI, but I'm no fanboi. If you are even looking at cards this crappy then I'm going to assume that it's for an HTPC?

If so the ATI card is a better choice. It has an onboard audio chip that passes audio through the hdmi port without having to hook up any more cables.

As far as I know, you have to hook up a sp/dif pass through cable to get the nvidia card to do the same thing. And that other dudes links even tell you the 220 is a loud POS, so I don't see how that supports his claim....|||Personally I would go with the GT220 because I've had bad experiences with all my older ATI graphic cards eventually dying on me after prolonged use.

GT220 or 9800GT ???? Physx?

The 9800 GT is the 512MB model core clock @ 600 MHz

The GT220 is equivalent to a 9400/9500GT, which is even worse.

As far as PhysX goes, ANY nVidia card that is recent has PhysX built in; in other words, you don't need another card for it.|||Why the hell would they put 1GB on a card that can't even use it? Jeez. Nvidia GT220 vs Radeon HD 4650?

I can't afford 5570, so I am thinking about buying those 2. They seem about the same to me. I understand that 4650 is a year older than 220 but 4650 has 320 streaming processors while 220 has only 80 or even less.

2Squiazer: I want to know opinion of other people, too Since you didn't provide my source, I might doubt your answer. You see, people are saying different staff, so I want to know for sure.|||Well all I can say is the ATI 4650 will kill the nvidia 220. The 220 is simply a 9500gt renamed. So if you can't take my work for it OK. I'm not doing your research for you.

ATI is winning the video card wars now. Price/performance can't be beat.

What is the better graphics card? GT220 or ATI 5670?

The 5670 is noticeably faster than the GT 220. However the ATI 5670 is at best an entry level card. It's not a gaming card by any stretch.|||When AMD launched the 5670, they told us they had 2 more cards on the way: the 5450, and a 5500 series card. Last week we saw the launch of the 5450, utilizing the Cedar GPU and finishing off AMD’s chip stack. Today we’re looking at that 5500 series card, the Radeon HD 5570.

Right off the bat, the 5570 marks a bit of a departure from AMD’s numbering scheme for the 4000 series. While the Radeon HD 4550 was the faster of the two cards utilizing AMD’s cheapest GPU (RV710), the 5570 is not a faster Cedar card. Instead it’s a slower Redwood card, putting it in the ballpark of the 5670’s rather than the 5450’s.

AMD has done 3 things to differentiate the 5570 from the 5670. The first of which is to significantly castrate the 5670’s memory bandwidth. While the 5670 had 1GHz (4GHz effective) GDD5, the 5570 drops that for simple 900MHz (1.8GHz effective) DDR3, giving the card only 45% of the memory bandwidth of the 5670. The second change is more customary, and that is lowering the core clock from 775MHz to 650MHz, leaving the card with roughly 83% of the computational/rendering/texturing performance of the 5670. None of the SIMDs have been disabled however, so this is a fully functional Redwood GPU.

Finally ATI 5670 is better than GT220|||What GPU is the best depends on your whole rig. But for itself the ATI wins here.|||ATI 5670... one of the most powerful gc.

like the other guy said there is a strong chance you'll need another power supply to go along with that graphics card, Big video cards these days are computers in and of themselves and require a c@#$ load of power to run.

however a GT220 is a pretty sorry a@# card when it gets down to it, so really something like a 9800GT E2 model would be perfect.

i know they sell those at bestbuy, i just took one back BECAUSE it didn't have a power connector, and the one i had for building a friends computer did so i wanted the older one with a power connector (was running a Sli system that uses two graphics cards)

But that 9800GT would be a Mighty perfect fit for someone in your situation, (if you cant afford to replace the PSU unit) and that 9800GT would kick *** through wow, if it two of them plays l4d2 at 70fps maxed out with even more graphics forced enabled lol. i played on his system with just the single 9800GT and it still pumped l4d2 at max settings 1680x1050 16xAA 16xAF

Matter of fact, here it is on the website

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PNY+-+XLR8+N…

I dont know why it says it needs power connectors, if it has that PE (Power efficient) on the box, it doesn't need the power connectors, Thats how they got me. I needed a non PE model, which they didn't have any more. So i ended up purchasing it from newegg.

but again in your situation having the power efficient model would be a benefit.

Nvidia Gt220 vs Radeon 4650?

I can't afford 5570 and I can have low profile only. Those two seem to be about the same.|||The ATI card will likely have GDDR2 and all of the 1gb is on the card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…

The Nvidia card uses GDDR3 which is much faster than the GDDR2. The reviews (really speculation) say the GT 220 should perform between a 9500 and 9600 Nvidia card.

If you look here.

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gamin…

you will have to interpolate but you can guess that it should be a wash, performance wise, between the 2 cards.

Also, The Nvidia is a new release whereas the Radeon is a proven / tested design.

At least, It's quiet the same so if I were you I would choose the cheapest one.

Nvidia GT220 vs Radeon HD 4650?

I can't afford 5570 and I think those 2 about the same. Thanks.|||Woah, the Nvidia GT 220 is a lot better! The 4650 is quite outdated, its even built on the old AGP connection (which probably wouldn't work in your computer).

Nvidia 9500gt 1gb drr2 or nvidia gt220 1gb ddr2?

which graphics card should i buy from these two mentioned in the question.

tell me their price in delhi also if u can.|||There's marginal difference between these 2 cards.

The GPU Clock, Shader Clock and the Memory Clock share similar values (+-50)

The only good difference is that 9500GT has 32 cuda cores v/s 48 in the GT220.

That will make a difference in performance though marginal.

Go for the GT220 which should be available for approx. 4000.

The 9500GT will cost you approx. 3400.

How much would you rate evga gt220 ddr3 1gb out of a scale of 10?

given that i am looking for cards under $100 for my q8oo core 2quad|||Maybe a 3 out of 10. For $100, you should be able to do better than a GT220. A GTS 240 or 250 (if you can go to $115) is the least fastest graphics card I would consider. I would only rate that at a 4 or 5 out of 10.

thing is Ive been browsing tigerdirect and i saw both cards are in stock

what I dont get is that 9800gt is $70 and gt220 is $57.99 WTF?

isnt gt220 more advanced? jobless, for sure im getting the latter coz of cheapness

but why the price? is it coz 9800gt is better in some way? I am totally clueless

when it comes to this stuff. thoughts?|||The 9800 GT is a MUCH MUCH better card, think of graphics card numbers like years and horsepower, the first number is the year or model, 9000 series or the newer 200 series then the next number is the horsepower, the 20 compared to the 800. your gettting a year or so older card but it is much much better.|||Either way, you will need a new PSU. But if you are buying a new graphics card, then go with the 550ti. It is in the $125 range, and a psu for that card will only run you $50 tops...

Is it worth it to get Nvidia GTS240 over GT220?

Just want get pros/cons of either OEM graphic cards.|||Of course it depends on what you want to do with either one. Unless you need to take advantage of higher number of processing cores, or wider memory interface (e.g. running a relatively high-end game), you will not see much difference. Both of them will be highly capable for run-of-the-mill tasks.

Also note that they'll differ a little in the implementation. Possibly the most relevant issue will be if the card has the types of interfaces you need (i.e. VGA, DVI, HDM) and how many monitor it supports.

GT220
