Is there a difference between a DDR3 graphics card and DDR2? Do I need anything else?

For example, will I need new software or a new motherboard for a DDR3 card?

I'm talking about the EVGA GT220 1GB DDR3 - Should I get the DDR2 or the DDR3 for an extra 10 dollars? What's the differences?

So in summary, are the system requirements the same for a ddr3?|||Different clock speeds. DDR2 is usually 800mh while DDR3 is either 1066 or 1333.

You should get the DDR3 though.|||DDR3 video ram is faster and newer than DDR2. Get the DDR3.
