I asked the same question yesterday, just need a few more opinions before I buy the card. please note the memories(512 MB and 1GB) of the two cards.personally i think the 5570 is better, currently i am using the GT220|||If you already have a GT220, I don't think spending the money on a change for a HD5570 is a good idea by a long shot. You'd be spending money to swop a perfectly good old-tech device for the same type of old-tech device, without any gain.
I had a GT220 (the 512MB version) and used it for about a year and a half without too many issues. The 1GB version has a bit more VRAM for use in AA situations and higher rendering, so I'd pick it over the 5570 with the 512MB VRAM for pure future-proofness. The HD5570 has a little slower core clock, but makes up for it with a PCI-E 2.1 interface that should boost performance a little. Still, the deal-breaker is the VRAM, and because the GT220 1GB has more than the HD5570 512MB, it'd be my pick in any situation.
EDIT: If your PSU and motherboard supports it, a twin-GT220 SLI setup is by far the best choice. The GT200-series cards scale OK in SLI (much better than the HD5500 cards), and it should give you the cheapest performance boost at the moment. Make sure you get a card from the same manufacturer though, and make sure it's also a 1GB version to ensure compatibilty. A 550W PSU will be able to handle a complete system with a dual-GT220 setup whilst keeping a bit of headroom for overclocking/future upgrades and degrading.|||I would recommend the ati hd 5770 but between the two you mention the gt 220 is becoming outdated for performance the ati hd 5570|||I have a 5470. Mobile card though. I think the 5570 is better.|||HD 5570 is better but it's not a very big upgrade from GT 220.|||tomshardware.com
